Honoured guests, esteemed delegates, my name is Zhalgas Kendirbayev.

Welcome to the MIS Model United Nations Disarmament and International Security Committee! As a Chair and previously a delegate of DISEC, I will try my best to ensure you have the best delegate experience before the conference and on the conference itself!

This year, the DISEC Committee will dedicate its efforts to discuss two of the most relevant world issues:

Topic A: Regulating the Use of Drones, Missiles & Proxy Warfare in Modern Conflicts

Iran-backed militias, drone warfare in Ukraine/Red Sea, Hezbollah/Houthi, private militias.

Topic B: Preventing the Spread of Regional Conflicts Through Proxy States

Middle East, Horn of Africa, South China Sea.
